Project News : FLS Group Delivers Dual-Destination Project with Cost-Efficient MPP Solution

A look back at the unforgettable moments from our 4th EPNetwork Annual Meeting in Tunis
FLS Group, a member of our network, recently completed two complex project cargo shipments from Vietnam, demonstrating how careful planning and close international collaboration can deliver significant cost savings without compromising on schedule.

Working together, FLS Vietnam and Australia developed a tailored logistics solution for two cargoes destined separately for Brisbane, Australia, and Noumea, New Caledonia. FLS’ customers faced with rising freight costs and limited vessel availability, the team successfully consolidated both shipments under a single Multi-Purpose (MPP) vessel charter, balancing commercial pressures with the requirements of two separate clients.

The Brisbane shipment involved the transportation of a 180-metric-ton vessel bow, requiring a carefully engineered operation. The cargo was hydraulically jacked for weight verification and lifting preparation at the Ho Chi Minh City shipyard before being transferred via SPMTs onto a chartered barge and subsequently moved to the anchorage for loading.

At the same time, the New Caledonia shipment was executed in parallel, with six iron ore barges towed from a separate shipyard to the same vessel at the Saigon River anchorage, allowing both projects to be completed within synchronized loading windows.

This successful operation highlights FLS Group‘s ability to combine engineering expertise, detailed planning, and seamless execution to overcome logistical challenges while delivering efficient and cost-effective project cargo solutions.

Congratulations to the FLS Group team on another outstanding achievement.
