Project News from ACT Shipping : Spanish–Mauritanian Joint Military Exercise

ACT Shipping, our member in Mauritania, successfully handled a complex military project cargo operation in support of a joint military exercise between the Spanish Army and the Mauritanian Army, carried out within the framework of their regular annual military cooperation.

The project involved the reception of the chartered vessel M/V BBC BALBOA at Nouakchott Port, carrying approximately 200 metric tons of various military equipment. Upon discharge, the cargo was carefully managed and transported over a distance of 450 kilometers inland, from the port of Nouakchott to the designated exercise area.

Following the completion of the joint exercise, the same military equipment was mobilized back to Nouakchott Port. The vessel BBC BALBOA, which had remained waiting at anchorage, was then re-loaded with the cargo, and the shipment was exported back to Spain.

This operation highlights ACT Shipping’s strong capabilities in project cargo handling, military logistics, and coordinated transport operations under sensitive and time-critical conditions.
